The design concept for Toms Dairy Freeze project reimagines the established 1969 Toronto restaurant through a cohesive architectural, interior, and graphic identity that honors its history while positioning the brand for future growth and franchising. Inspired by the character of a classic diner without relying on nostalgic clichés, the refreshed identity introduces a softened version of Toms’ iconic blue and yellow palette alongside contemporary materials, graphics, signage, and branded touchpoints. The expanded restaurant provides year-round indoor dining while preserving the traditional walk-up ordering experience and incorporating patio dining, corporate offices, and connections to the surrounding community. Thoughtful space planning prioritizes customer and employee circulation, accessibility, operational efficiency, greenspace, and a variety of comfortable seating experiences. From the redesigned logo and menus to the architecture, interiors, merchandise, and packaging, each element works together to create a recognizable and memorable Toms experience for longtime patrons, new customers, and future franchise locations.
